Led by Siân, a BHS Stage 2 Accredited Coach and the owner of Hundleby Equestrian Centre, this structured course offers a clear, progressive route through all aspects of the BHS Stage 1 syllabus.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Weekly 2-hour sessions across
  • 12 weeks Theory and practical instruction
  • Hands-on stable management
  • Individual guidance and feedback
  • Optional preparation for the official BHS assessment

You can take the course as a standalone learning experience or choose to sit the official BHS exam at the end—we support both pathways.

Siân is a passionate and experienced horsewoman, holding her BHS Stage 2 Coach qualification and having ridden since she was six years old. She still owns her childhood ponies, Ceaser and Sara, and currently competes her own horse, Ziggy.

Although she spends much of her time running the yard and organising lessons, Siân’s love for coaching shines through. Her teaching style is friendly, calm, and confidence-building—making her a favourite among riders of all ages.

She believes deeply that equestrian education should be accessible to everyone, and this course is one way she’s helping to make that vision a reality.

  • Riders aged 12+ (or younger by discussion)
  • Adults returning to riding who want structure and progression
  • Home-educated students working towards qualifications
  • Aspiring grooms, coaches, or yard staff
  • Anyone looking to deepen their knowledge of horse care

No previous qualifications are required, but you should be comfortable in walk, trot, and ideally beginning canter.
